High School Regional Rankings Boys XC 2024 - 9/26Published by
Boys Regional Rankings - 9/26/2024 By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor The country's top team, Herriman of Utah, delivered a big mid-season performance at the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic to affirm its place at the top. What was unexpected is that nearly all of California's best teams went to Woodbridge and none finished higher than seventh. Mira Costa, at seventh in the boys sweepstakes race, jumps to the top of the California rankings this week. But there could still be major fluctuations in that state over the next two months. Crater OR, Coeur d'Alene ID and Mercer Island WA all finished higher than the California schools and reset the rankings in the Northwest. Dowling Catholic of West Des Moines Iowa ran to a gritty win at the Roy Griak Invitational and now own the top spot in the Heartland region, despite an earlier loss against Blue Valley Southwest of Kansas. DC is getting some credit for a better performance in difficult conditions in Minnesota, but Blue Valley Southwest has our attention. Big meets this weekend at Bob Firman, Bowdoin Park, Desert Twilight, Nike Portland XC and Chile Pepper should shape next week's second national rankings list even further.
