J Serra Tops Buchanan Again At Clovis Invitational; James Robinson VA, Sehome WA Enter Top 10 By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Freshman Maya Pawlowicz led J Serra Catholic to victory at the Clovis Invitational last weekend at Woodward Park in Fresno and the Lions' top five fit into a 37-second window at the finish line. It was another stellar performance and competition between J Serra and Buchanan in California. J Serra's top five averaged 17:56 -- tied for the fourth-fastest team time ever at the Clovis Invitational. The top five remains the same, with Buchanan moving slightly ahead of Niwot CO. Lone Peak UT, 12 days out from the Utah state championships, remains No. 1 and will likely turn up the heat now that the big meets are on the horizon. The bigger changes to this week's rankings come a bit further down, where No. 6 Carmel IN moved up after an impressive showing at the Nike XC Town Twilight, James Robinson VA moved up with a big victory at the Great American XC Festival and Sehome WA moved up with another great showing at the Hole In The Wall Invitational in Washington. Champlain Valley of Vermont picked up another big victory in the Burnt Hills Invitational in New York, defeating Bethlehem Central. There are some really good teams out there that were squeezed out of the top 30, such as Northwest Nelson TX, Boulder CO, Classical Academy CO and Shenendehowa Central NY. Upcoming meets could push them in, of course, but it goes to show how deep girls cross country is across the U.S. this fall. The Top 30 14. Webb School of Knoxville TN 27. Mt.
