Santa Claus Visits The Armory … The PAL Center Gets All the Toys!Published by
Washington Heights’ community students who participate in The Armory College Prep for middle school students are Santa’s little helpers with more than 300 gifts collected for 1st Annual Armory Toy Drive. NEW YORK, December 22, 2015 – By collecting more than 300 toys for the 1st Annual Toy Drive, the Armory Foundation produced countless smiles to faces of Washington Heights’ children for the holidays. The toys were given to the Armory PAL Center, which is comprised of children from the Washington Heights community. To keep with the theme of The Armory, many gifts were sports related: basketballs, footballs, soccer balls and volleyballs Said Armory Foundation President Dr. Norbert Sander: “The Armory is delighted to begin an annual tradition to provide a whole array of toys for our PAL children, here in Washington Heights.” The Armory recently received a Santa bag full of toys from KIPP STAR Washington Heights Elementary students and their contribution efforts. The Armory encouraged area residents to spread holiday cheer by dropping off new, unwrapped toys (ages 5-17) at The Armory’s first floor lobby area that took place from December 1-20. |
