McCallie, Farragut Put Complete Performnces Together In Run For State Titles; Abby Faith Cheeseman Wins By 81 Seconds

Farragut of Knoxville has been a regionally relevant team all fall and scored 41 points to dominate the Class AAA boys cross country final at Sanders Ferry Park, Nov. 3-4.

But McCallie School of Chattanooga was no less dominant, and perhaps even more impressive as it won the boys D2 AA championship with 34 points.  

McCallie put six runners in the top 13 and averaged 15:47 on its scoring five. Junior Luke Thompson won the D2 AA race in 15:16.0 and McCallie duo Jack Bowen (15:18.3) and Hugh Carlson (15:25.6) were right behind. 

Farragut went 2-4-5 in the slightly slower AAA race, which Cleveland freshman Owen Clemons won in 15:22.4. Beech finished second with 101 points and Brentwood was third with 129.

Abby Faith Cheeseman from The Webb (Bell Buckle) proved to be the fastest girl in the state by running 17:12.5 and winning the D2 A race by 81 seconds. 

Brentwood put three into the top 10 to win the girls AAA title with 41 points. Claire Stegall from Nolensville won the race in 17:52.0.

Harpeth Hall won the D2 AA team title with 51 points as Bella Guillamondegui won the race in 17:54.6. 

Signal Mountain swept the the D1 A-AA team titles.

D2 A - University School of Nashville boys 52 points, Westminster Academy girls 44 points - RESULTS

D2 AA - McCallie boys 34 points, Harpeth Hall girls 51 points - RESULTS
