Leggat-Barr, Doorow fastest in Maine

At the Maine Class B varsity girls’ 5,000-meter race at Twin Brook on Saturday, junior Katherine Leggat-Barr of Greely was the top finisher, clocking 19 minutes, 11.71 seconds. She recorded the fastest time of the day for any female runner.
Yarmouth scored 65 points to win the team title.
In the boys 5K varsity race, Vincent Chandler of Freeport won in 16:34.72. Freeport won the team championship with 52 points.
Junior Tia Tardy of Orono led her team to a Class C title on the 5,000-meter course, running 19 minutes and 43.81 seconds to win the title. Orono claimed the top 3 spots and finished with five in the top 10 to score 24 points.
In the Class A boys varsity 5K race, Osman Doorow of Lewiston won the individual title (16:17.71). as he also ran the fastest time of the day for the boys.
Scarborough scored 122 points to win the championship.
In Class A, Anna Slager of Gorham finished the 5,000-meter race in 19 minutes and 42.90 seconds. In the team race, Bonny Eagle won the title with 58 points. Four runners placed in the top 20. More news |
